The Mortal Engines trailer is a whirlwind welcome into Peter Jackson’s post-apocalyptic world. The team behind The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogies brought the first installment of Philip Reeve’s award-winning book series to life.

In this adventure giant, futuristic cities roam and consume each other to survive. The mysterious Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar) sets out to avenge her mother’s murder, but she is the only one able to stop the predatory London from destroying everything in its path. In an unlikely turn of events, she teams up with Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan) a London outcast, and the dangerous outlaw Anna Fang (Jihae) to try and save the future of mankind. Oscar-winning visual-effects artist Christian Rivers directed the film, it looks like the action-packed effects sequences in this movie will not disappoint.

Mortal Engines will be in a theater near you on December 14th, 2018

About Mortal Engines
Thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living has evolved. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns. Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan)—who hails from a Lower Tier of the great traction city of London—finds himself fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar). Two opposites, whose paths should never have crossed, forge an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future.
