The Hummingbird Project is a cautionary tale that takes place in a world of High-Frequency Trading. A millisecond is the difference of millions of dollars and that reality fuels two cousins to attempt to build a straight fiber-optic cable between Kansas and New Jersey. This would give them the ability to process data just a hair faster than everyone else, and make them millions. Vincent (Jesse Eisenberg) and Anton (Alexander Skarsgård) leave their firm and set out on this journey to change the world of trading. Their old boss Eva (Salma Hayek) catches wind of their endeavor and attempts to sabotage their success.
