2018 was an incredible year for TV, and now it’s time for the networks to announce what shows are safe for the upcoming season, and who got the boot!

NBC

NBC has decided to renew its hit drama The Blacklist, the recently rescued Andy Samberg comedy Brooklyn 99, and beloved franchise series Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD. Also coming back are fan favorites Ellen’s Game of Games, Good Girls, and The Good Place with Kristen Bell.

Medical drama New Amsterdam has been given the green light for its second season, and the Will & Grace reboot will return for its third new season. Superstore will be back for a fifth season with its hysterical ensemble cast returning as well.

NBC staple Law & Order: SVU isn’t going anywhere, they will be back for their 21st season, making it the longest-running live-action series in the history of television!

Acclaimed drama This Is Us is not only renewed for season four but five and six as well!

The fate of action-drama Blindspot was in question, but NBC decided to renew it for its fifth and final season.

NBC Series that will not be returning: I Feel Bad, Marlon, Midnight, Texas, Reverie, and Trial & Error.

CBS

CBS’s Blue Bloods is back for its tenth season, the hit drama will reach its 200th episode milestone this year.

Fan favorite franchise NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, and NCIS: New Orleans will all be returning. Fellow action-crime dramas FBI, SEAL Team, S.W.A.T., and Hawaii Five-0 will all be returning as well. Bull, the drama inspired by Dr. Phill, will be back for its fourth season, and fan favorite Madam Secretary is back for it’s sixth.

Fans of Magnum P.I. were given a gift when CBS rebooted it and it will be back again this coming fall! Another returning reboot is MacGyver which will be back for its fourth season.
Freshman series God Friended Me, and The Neighborhood will both returning for their second seasons.

Matt LeBlanc’s comedy Man With a Plan is coming back for its fourth season, and the hilarious Big Bang Theory spinoff, Young Sheldon has been given the green light for a third and fourth season. Another comedy picked up for multiple seasons is Mom. The Alyson Janney, Anna Faris sitcom will return for Seasons seven and eight.

Beloved drama Criminal Minds will be airing its 15th and final season this fall.

CBS series that will not be returning: The Big Bang Theory, Elementary, Fam, Happy Together, Life in Pieces, Murphy Brown, and Salvation.

ABC

ABC’s veteran, award-winning comedy Modern Family is returning for its eleventh and final season.

Hit comedies black-ish, and Fresh Off the Boat will both be returning for their sixth seasons. The 1980s based sitcomThe Goldbergs and its 90s spinoff Schooled are both coming back to ABC as well. Another sitcom returning to ABC is American Housewife, for its fourth season.

From creator Shonda Rhimes, ABC staple Grey’s Anatomy became the longest running medical drama of all time this year, and it’s coming back for at least another two seasons! ABC announced that Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Krista Vernoff will also take over spinoff series Station 19 and there will be a shared universe between the two shows for their upcoming seasons. Rounding out ABC’s Shondaland programming is award-winning drama How To Get Away With Murder starring Viola Davis, returning for season six.

ABC’s medical drama, The Good Doctor with Freddie Highmore is coming back for its third season, and newcomers Bless This Mess, A Million Little Things, The Conners, The Rookie, and Single Parents have all been given second seasons.

Season six of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is set to premiere this summer, but the network announced that it has already decided to pick it up for a seventh season!

ABC series that will not be returning: For the People, The Fix, The Kids Are Alright, Splitting Up Together, Speechless, Take Two, and Whiskey Cavalier.

FOX

Fox has renewed the iconic animated series, The Simpsons for an unprecedented 31st and 32nd seasons. The renewal gives the hit animated series yet another record with 713 episodes. Another veteran Fox animated show, Family Guy is locked for the next two seasons, and Bob’s Burgers is set for the next year.

Hit drama Empire has been renewed for its sixth and final season, amid cast drama in real life. Fox has “no plans” for actor Jussie Smollett to return to the show.

Ryan Murphy’s 9-1-1 is coming back as planned for season 3, with a spinoff coming this fall with Rob Lowe.

Fox’s flagship comedy Last Man Standing starring Tim Allen will be back for the series’ second season on Fox and eighth overall. The show reached its 150th episode milestone this past season.

Seth MacFarlane’s sci-fi adventure series The Orville will return for a third season as well as medical drama The Resident.

More celebrities will be competing incognito on The Masked Singer. Fox announced that the reality singing competition series has been renewed for a third season before season two has even aired. Season three is set the premiere in the coveted post-Super Bowl slot on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020

Fox series that will not be returning: The Cool Kids, The Gifted, Gotham, Lethal Weapon, The Passage, Proven Innocent, Rel, and Star.

The CW

Two CW staples have been renewed for their final seasons. After fifteen cherished seasons the Winchester brothers are done fighting monsters on Supernatural, and Oliver Queen is retiring after eight seasons of being a vigilante on Arrow.

A long-running series that isn’t going anywhere yet is The 100. Clarke & Co. should settle in on their new planet because The CW has renewed The 100 for a seventh season.

The CW had a successful year with their freshman series, Roswell, New Mexico, The Outpost Legacies, In the Dark, Burden of Truth, and All American will all be returning for second seasons.

Fans of the Charmed reboot can get excited for a season two, and the Dynasty reboot isn’t going anywhere. The drama will return for a third season.

The CW’s superhero programming is still running strong. Black Lightning will be back for season three. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, and Supergirl are all returning for fifth seasons.

Smash hit Riverdale has been renewed for a fourth season. This will be the first season of the show without beloved Luke Perry, the series is dedicating episodes in his memory.

CW series that will not be returning: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Jane the Virgin, and iZombie
