Summer is for great sports movies, especially for baseball movies. Who doesn’t love a comeback story? In the upcoming “Bottom of the 9th” starring Joe Manganiello and “real-life” wife Sofía Vergara, 19-year-old baseball phenom Bobby Stano (Joe Manganiello) finds himself in jail stopping his baseball career in its tracks.

In this film from a producer of Creed and Rocky Balboa, director Raymond De Felitta takes a screenplay by Robert Bruzio and transforms this story into one you won’t want to miss.

About Bottom of the 9th
Bottom of the 9th follows a man, Bobby Stano (Joe Manganiello), who returns to the Bronx after serving 17 years in prison for a violent mistake he made as a kid, ultimately robbing him of a professional baseball career and the love of his life. Now at 39 and out of prison, he works to win back his respect, his family, his lost love and his dream of being a professional baseball career. Bottom of the 9th stars Joe Manganiello, Sofía Vergara, Burt Young, Denis O’Hare, Michael Rispoli and Vincent Pastore.
