Jesse Custer’s television story is coming to an end when Preacher on AMC returns for its fourth season. The DC/Vertigo comic book series by Garth Ennis and the legendary Steve Dillon was itself finite running 66 issues (not counting specials). Preacher’s television adaptation by Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen, and Sam Catlin expanded upon little details the comics had no real estate for such as Custer’s actual time as a preacher in Anvil Texas. Now the show faces the challenge of sticking the landing in a way that honors its source material yet doesn’t sputter like an untied balloon in the way Game of Thrones did.

The big question remains. How will AMC get through the remainder of story material leading to Jesse finding god and the reckoning with The Saint of Killers? AMC is reminding fans they won’t have to wait long to find out as the network released a pair of teasers and new art from the upcoming season. Preacher will have more to show at San Diego Comic-Con in July but you can view the teasers at the links on this page before that.
