gordon ramsey uncharted

During National Geographic’s TCA presentation on Tuesday, Gordon Ramsay promoted his new adventuring show by talking about New Zealand delicacies he’s tried. Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted isn’t the TV celebrity chef fighting waves of unnamed goons while searching for a mythical treasure. The show is Ramsay in an element his audience may not be familiar with, the outdoors. Gordon travels the world learning about cultures untouched by the modern world, and absorbs their history through various foods he’ll learn about.

It won’t be a show strictly about cuisine as much of the show is about Ramsay sharing his passion for exploration.

He did talk about the Michelin Star rating system. “Giving stars back is bullshit…it’s a bit of an insult to Michelin”, in his view the restaurant is the one receiving the star based on its level of quality.

Ramsay’s Nat Geo show won’t be what fans of Masterchef have come to know. Instead, this series put the eclectic TV personality in the wilds of exotic lands trying various native cuisines. He’s bringing along fellow chefs such as Monique Fiso along with adventurers such as Kimi Werner and Mick O’Shea. Ramsay’s purpose for the show is to get people energized for the outside. Food happens to be part of the cultures he explores but his main goal is educating and spreading a love for adventure.
