On Thursday night Hollywood Horror Nights kicked off at Universal Studios in Hollywood. Every year I’ve attended have been filled with trills, chills and scares showcasing a variety of walk throughs and mazes from some of horror’s greatest movies. This year is no exception. With 10 mazes (9 of them completely new for 2019), I rank um here. In all honesty, there was not one disappointment. Some just stood out more than others. This could be from the jump scares it provided or the level of fandom I hold for the franchise (I’m looking at you Ghostbusters). So here we go:

10. Curse of Pandora’s Box
An all new original maze based on twisted Greek mythology. A fun walk through highlighted by Medusa’s liar.

9. Holidayz in Hell
Another all original maze featuring a twisted take on all the seasonal celebrations throughout the year. Had a blast with this one especially during the month of March when an evil leprechaun made his appearance.

8. Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Based on the 1988 cult classic, Killer Klowns felt like walking through a demented circus tent. These clowns aren’t on the level of Pennywise in terms of creepiness but the twisted circus music enhanced this one.

7. The Walking Dead
A year round attraction that’s been running for a few years now, the Walking Dead offers nothing new but still offered up a few zombie scares. I left thinking, they still got it after they got me numerous times.

6. House of 1000 Corpses
Inspired by the 2003 Rob Zombie horror classic, this one was a super fun time. Every time you enter a new room and you think it won’t be as bad as the last room, boom…..there’s a crazy person with a knife or an axe in your face.

5. Stranger Things
New year, new seasons highlighted in this maze. Heavy on the season 2 storyline, Stranger Things offers a ton of scares. The 80’s soundtrack while you’re waiting in line really gets you in the state of mind as well.

4. Creepshow
Based on the 1982 classic and brand new anthology series coming soon to Shudder, I loved this one. Started off with the corpse of the dead dad yelling “I WANT MY CAKE” and took you on wild ride throughout.

3. Us
Us is amazing. Having working close with director Jordan Peele, the details in this are spot on. Let’s just say, you actually feel like you’re in the movie. Loved this one.

2. Ghostbusters
This maze was a Ghostbusters super fan’s dream come true. We were greeted at the entrance by the Key master and the fun didn’t stop. Amazing detail put into this and frankly scarier than I thought it would be. Long waits for this but I assure you it’s SO worth it.

1. Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man
Wow! These two Universal classic monsters delivered big time. Amazing detail with a ton of scares. I felt the Wolf Man was actually stalking me throughout as you’re not safe from him popping out at every turn. Classic characters, classic settings, unbelievable experience.
