On the heels of recently announced delays for Marvel’s Avengers and Final Fantasy, more big titles are revealing bumps in the road.

CD Projekt Red (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt) announced that Cyberpunk 2077 would now move from its Spring date into September. The new September 17, 2020 date was decided on in order to give its team additional time for playtesting and polish. In a show of transparency, CD Projekt Red admitted the game was “complete and playable”. Cyberpunk 2077 will feature Keanu Reeves motion capture and voice as one of the game’s key characters.

In another surprise announcement studio, Camoflaj announced that its PlayStation Iron Man VR game would need additional development time. The game will now launch on May 15, 2020. In a tweet from Camoflaj, the only reason given was needing additional time in order to meet the community’s high standards.

Some negativity has come in response to the announcements but once again consumers are faced with the prospect of either waiting or getting an inferior final product. But it’s worth mentioning the only major game slated for the first half of 2020 that hasn’t seen a delay is the Resident Evil 3 Remake. Fingers crossed.
