Announced in February, Eli Roth will be bringing the popular 2K published video game Borderlands (developed by Gearbox) to the big screen for Lionsgate. Rumors are still surrounding the project casting but it was announced today that Cate Blanchett (Thor Ragnarok) will play the role of Lilith.
The project reunites Blanchett with Roth after she starred alongside Jack Black in The House with a Clock in Its Walls. In Borderlands, Blanchett will play Lilith, a siren and legendary thief equipped with magical skills.
Borderlands the movie will be executive produced by its creative developer Gearbox studio’s CEO Randy Pitchford and producer Straus Zelnick.
