Gibson Gives–the charitable arm of Gibson guitars is proud to announce our virtual October concert series in partnership with Women Who Rock to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research at Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation (MWRIF)

“As both a breast cancer survivor and a singer/songwriter, this concert series felt like the perfect opportunity to raise awareness for the importance of women’s cancer research through the power of music,” says singer/songwriter and breast cancer survivor Rita Wilson. “I’m excited to perform alongside such a diverse and strong group of female artists and partner with Women Who Rock and Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation to hopefully make an impact in the continued fight against breast cancer.”

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed among U.S. women and is the second leading cause of death of women after lung cancer. With early detection, more than 90% of women will survive their cancer. Through the power of music this October, all donations generated from the Women Who Rock Gibson Gives Concert Series will benefit Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI)–the nation’s largest research institute dedicated solely to life-saving women’s health research–and will be fully-matched by UPMC and UPMC Health Plan up to $25,000. The public can make donations through MWRIF’s website: http://mageewomens.org/strikeachord.
