Misha

Welcome to our interview series with filmmakers with film projects in the 2021 Santa Fe Film Festival.

In this interview, we are speaking with Brian Song, a NY based filmmaker of Korean descent. Brian likes to explore Korean Diaspora stories and is currently developing a documentary about Korean-Japanese Baseball player Isao Harimoto, the only person to play professional baseball who survived the atomic bomb in Hiroshima. He is also an avid world traveler and currently (as his day job) is the executive producer of his production company Good One Inc, where he works with such brands as Proctor & Gamble, Humira, truTV, MGM Resorts, Subway, Garnier, etc.

About Misha

Mikhail “Misha” An was considered the best player on the field as he worked harder due to his size and had a heart that extended off the field and brought together a community. This is his story, which ended too soon.

This documentary also tells about the history of this Soviet soccer star from Central Asia’s ethnic Korean community, which was deported en masse to the region by Stalin.
