Welcome to our interview series with filmmakers with film projects in the 2021 Santa Fe Film Festival.
In this interview, we are speaking with the director, producer, and writer, Hafid Abdelmoula about his fantasy feature film, “Broken Gaiete” his challenges, and the overwhelming support to make this film. We also got to speak with some of his cast and team as well which included Mark Vasconcellos (associate producer, actor), Elizabeth Elise Gonzalez, (actor), Hector Dez, (actor), and Tiffany Figueroa (executive producer, production design) about the making of this ambitious film, which has the second installment of this story in the works.
“Broken Gaiete“ is one of the feature films in the Sante Fe Film Festival that was shot in New Mexico with a dedicated team of storytellers.
About “Broken Gaiete“
Lost in an unknown and timeless land, IDIR finds himself with KASHOU a woman who claims to be his mother, crossing through a village that lives by absurd and maniacal rules. Not remembering his past Idir convinces Kashou to settle there and start a new life, but to do so he must get an -ASIV- which is to marry from the village. Beda, a woman who shares secrets with Tsicar (the village leader) marries Idir and quickly things take a decidedly strange turn when the rule about new borns is unveiled.
