Rebel Wilson is bringing dogs to ABC’s primetime lineup this march in Pooch Perfect. This competition show pits the best dog grooming duos against each other to see who can come up with the best-themed styles for doggos.
During ABC Networks Winter TCA presentation the show dropped a few interesting notes.
-The dogs we will see are all from homes that are accustomed to being groomed.
-Rebel Wilson herself comes from a line of world class dog groomers yet is allergic to dogs.
-The handlers for the dogs all come from celebrities dog handlers and the level of care they used was the highest level.
-The show has a focus on the bond between the groomers and the animals, it will be a factor in judging the winners.
-Pooch Perfect casts Rebel Wilson in a new role, reality show hosts. She states it’s also her first thing back from 2020.
-The judges panel consists of veterinarian DR. Callie Harris, Lisa Vanderpump, and Jorge Bendersky.
-Show judge Lisa Vanderpump is involved in getting puppy mill laws passed. Puppy mills are a growing problem in the country.
-The studio created a lush playground for the dogs which Wilson refers to as Dogneyland.
-70% of the cast is on the LGBTQ spectrum, episode 3 focuses on the theme of pride parade. According to Wilson, it’s among the most inclusive productions on television.
Pooch Perfect comes to ABC primetime on March 30 at 8PM ET/7PM CST
