About the Project
“Ingenious” is an “indie” film shot in Tucson, Arizona about three people who’s friendship, hope and humor help them over come hard times.
Three friends, one romance, one bromance and a big dream. The story is about Matt (played by Dallas Roberts) who is an inventor living out on the edge of the Tucson desert who comes up with some clever and sometimes impractice product ideas which are then “hawked” by his buddy, Sam (Jeremy Renner) who is determined to make one of these inventions pay out. Matt is married to Gina, (Ayelet Zurer) a flight attendant who has to work extra trips to help keep Matt’s struggling business afloat. Did we mention human weakness? Yes, you guessed it, gambling is not a good flaw to have as Matt gambles away their savings to try to make a quick buck.
Reinvention is the key to moving forward and Matt knows it – then it happens, the BIG IDEA he has been looking for his whole life while Sam works on his own money-raising schemes to finance this American dream.

Jeremy Renner, who has received best actor nominations from the Academy Awards, Spirit, SAG and BAFTA organizations for his work in ” The Hurt Locker” he is also known for “The Bourne Legacy,” “Mission: Impossible, Ghost Protocol,” “The Town,” “S.W.A.T” and the short-lived TV series, “The Unusuals.”
Dallas Roberts most recently from TV’s “The Good Wife,” “Rubicon,” and “The Grey” as well as “Walk The Line”, “3:10 to Yuma.”
Ayelet Zurer just wrapped “Man Of Steel” which is in post-production, and shined with Eric Bana with”Munich”, Tom Hanks in “Angels & Demons,” and “In Therapy” and “Awake” on TV.
Directed by Jeff Balsmeyer whose first feature, “Danny Deckchair”, was the closing night film at the Toronto Film Festival and opened to rave reviews and written by Mike Cram.
Kickstarter Goal Achieved – Not All $ Needed Yet
Although they have achieved the goal of $48,000 for funding to make this film eligible for the Awards circuit it needs to be seen – and before the deadlines imposed by the Festivals and Academy Awards. That costs money – including having to create the DVDs for the people who vote on film projects like the Oscars and other distribution and promotion expenses.

Funding Achieved – 1st Premiere
The L.A. Premiere of INGENIOUS will take place on Friday November 9, 2012 at 7:30pm at the Grauman’s Chinese 6 Theater. This is a requirement, that the film be seen in public in order for it to qualify for consideration in the Academy Awards.
