It’s true. Love conquers all.

Last night, Proposition 8 plantiffs Paul Katami Jeff Zarrillo were married at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills with a ceremony officiated by David Boies and Ted Olson, the couple’s lawyer in the historic Supreme Court Prop 8 case.

With so many challenges for LGBT couples around the globe to have a safe place to express their love for each other and have the legal right to choose to marry, it’s refreshing to see the commitment the Hilton Hotels have shown by hosting this momentous event.

Event Recap

Paul Katami & Jeff Zarrillo  had been together for eight years when they decided they wanted to take their relationship to the next level, marriage. With the help of lawyers, Ted Olson and David Boies, along with the American Foundation for Equal Rights, the couple joined a federal lawsuit filed in California to overturn the state’s Proposition 8, a ballot initiative that banned equal marriage rights in the state. It took four and a half years to get the Supreme Court to rule in Katami and Zarrillo’s favor.
