It was a night of remembrance, laughter and love at the Paley Center with Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Billy Crystal and Eddy Friedfeld talking about their friend and colleague, comedian Sid Caesar during a panel discussion.
Friedfeld worked with Caesar on his autobiography, “Caesar’s Hours: My Life in Comedy, With Love and Laughter,” calling it the “Mount Rushmore of Comedy.”
Mel Brooks not only worked with him, but for him and said “It’s a little overcoming because… we loved him… like loving a family member.”
The group had many stories to share and dubbed Caesar as the “greatest sketch comic of all time.” Some of the stories they shared were his “This Is Your Story” and “The German General” skits. (see these sketch videos embedded below)
Friedfeld also said fondly of Caesar “He loved making people laugh.”
