This was an exclusive first look at the menus, décor and inspiration for the Television Academy’s after party celebrations.

At the 66th Emmy Awards Governors Ball Preview

First Course 

  • Grilled Peach and Heirloom Tomato Salad
  • Little gem lettuce, candy striped figs, burrata, honey vidalia, peppermint, basil, toasted Marcona almonds, fleur de sel 

Main Course 

  • Filet of beef, artisan grapes, Idaho 90 potato “bone,” zephyr squash, caramelized cippolini, crisp lacinato kale

DÉCOR & ENTERTAINMENT FACTS 

  • 700 floral arrangements
  • More than 3,500 labor hours are required to create the floral centerpieces
  • 8 lasers are placed within the space, each producing 8 individual white beams; each singular beam can be scanned into multiple colors or shapes.
  • More than 30,000 LED Pixels are used between the LED lighting instruments and the Versa tubes; each individual pixel is controlled by a computer
  • 5 miles of cabling is used to power the lighting and video.
  • One single GrandMA lighting console controls every piece of lighting, video, and laser technology
  • More than 100 gallons of paint will be used in 14 different colors.
  • The total rigging and suspension package fills four 53 foot semi-trucks
  • 1,500 connection points are needed for the total truss suspension rig
  • 2,700 yards of fabric cover the ceiling beams of the Convention Center
  • 3,000 pounds of sand for sand bags
  • More than 250 curtain clips secure the seams of the star drop drape panels

  • Over 2,400 feet of brass wire will be used to complete the two harp installation for String Theory
  • String Theory’s dual Cyclodrum sculpture is comprised of 26 drums, standing 10 feet off the ground

The Television Academy’s Governors Ball Committee and Sequoia Productions offered a sneak peek of what’s to come for the highly-anticipated official Emmy Awards after parties: the Creative Arts Ball (August 16, following the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards) and Governors Ball (August 25, following the 66th Emmy Awards.)  Food, beverage, entertainment and design connoisseurs were on-hand to talk about what went into the planning of these ultimate post-Emmy celebrations. The preview revealed this year’s colorful theme, electrifying entertainment, menu from Patina Catering, a look at the floral design by LA Premier, plus full décor samples including table settings, and more. The Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre lobby was transformed to reflect the look and feel for the Governors Ball and the media were attending the preview were the first to taste samples of the signature courses and wines. Contributing sponsors for the event include Audi, L’Oréal Paris, Beaulieu Vineyard, and Cellar Door Chocolates.
