We were invited to a special media event earlier this month to hear from some of Sundance TV’s creators and stars including Maggie Gyllenhaal and her new role in “The Honorable Woman.” Maggie talked about using a British accent in this series, filming the series and writer-director Hugo Blick’s creativity.

This new Sundance Original Series is set in a time filled with paranoia and espionage and the main character, played by Maggie Gyllenhaal, Nessa Stein, is on a path to right the wrongs done in the past. Stephen Rea (The Crying Game) and Janet McTeer (Damages) also stars in the series.
Tune into the Premiere Thursday Night, July 31st on Sundance TV at 10 PM

It’s a fast-paced thriller from writer-director Hugo Blick (The Shadow Line) about family inheritance, international business and world politics. Nessa Stein’s (Maggie Gyllenhaal) father was a Zionist arms procurer; as a child, she and her brother witness his assassination. After inheriting her father’s company as an adult, she inverts its purpose from supplying arms to laying high-spec data cabling networks between Israel and the West Bank. Now in her thirties, she finds her tireless promotion of projects for reconciliation between the Israelis and Palestinians creates an international political maelstrom.
