CBS All Access

Starting today, CBS is offering over 6,500 Episodes On-Demand including watching LIVE TV via their new service “CBS All Access.”

Now, how is this beneficial to TV lovers? Well, they have lots of great shows in their archives and if you want to watch on your computer or mobile device – then you have access but do the demographics line up with the service offering? Time will tell.

Would you pay to watch shows (live broadcast) that are also available to anyone who has a broadcast antenna?

No, sorry. No NFL Football streaming either because CBS doesn’t have streaming rights.

via the website: CBS All Access is an online streaming service offering its subscribers the ability to watch CBS programming, including some full seasons, and next-day access to current daytime, primetime and late-night programming across devices. Subscribers can also stream their local CBS channel live (select markets only) and stream ad-free TV classics from the CBS library.

CBS All Access can be viewed on iOS and Android mobile devices. You can also view it on your Mac or PC.

Let us know what you think, will this be part of your monthly entertainment budget?

This is just the start of the evolution of how you’re going to pay for TV entertainment – and for that matter movies… video on demand, live streaming, streaming video… they are all opening the ways we are going to consume entertainment. Hulu, Netflix and Amazon have proven the model works… now it’s going to be interesting to see how things shake out and which partnerships come out of it – because I can’t see having 500 apps and paying money to 500 different entities to watch shows on my Apple TV.
