About Elizabeth Glaser

In 1981, Elizabeth Glaser contracted HIV from a blood transfusion while giving birth to her daughter and later learned that she unknowingly passed the virus on to her daughter through breast milk and that their son, Jake, had contracted the virus in utero. At the time, there was no treatment for children available and the Glaser’s lost their daughter to the disease in 1988. It was at that time that Elizabeth took action and with help started raising money for HIV/AIDS research. Elizabeth lost her own battle with AIDS in 1994 but the EGPAF event is growing stronger, in it’s 25th year.
