The much anticipated 87th Academy Awards nominations is coming up in 2 months and will be announced live on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 5:30AM PT in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

Below are the lists of the 10 Animated Short films and the 8 Documentary Short films that have made it to the voting stage. Each category eligible for 3-5 Oscar nominations.

Animated Short List

Fifty-eight pictures qualified in the category for Animated Short films and the final 10 are listed alphabetically below:

  • “The Numberlys,” William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg, directors (Moonbot Studios)

  • “Symphony No. 42,” Réka Bucsi, director (Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design Budapest)

Doc Short List

Voters from the Academy’s Documentary Branch viewed this year’s 58 eligible entries and submitted their ballots to PricewaterhouseCoopers for tabulation. The final eight Documentary Short films listed alphabetically below of which three to five will earn Oscar® nominations.
