Awards Season Announcement
ASIFA-Hollywood aka The International Animated Film Society released the nominations today for the upcoming 42nd Annual Annie Awards recognizing the year’s best in the field of animation.
Juried Awards Honoring Career Achievement & Contributions to the Animation Industry
At the Annie Awards, Didier Brunner, Don Lusk and Lee Mendelson will receive the Winsor McCay award for their career contributions to the art of animation, Charles Solomon will receive the June Foray Award for his significant and benevolent or charitable impact on the art and industry of animation, DreamWorks Animation’s Apollo Software will receive the Ub Iwerks Award for technical advancement and The Walt Disney Family Museum will receive the Special Achievement Award for their impact on the art and industry of animation.

About the Annie Awards
The Annie Awards cover 36 categories and include Best Animated Feature, Best Animated Special Production, Commercials, Short Subjects and Outstanding Individual Achievements. The winners will be announced at a black tie ceremony on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at UCLA’s Royce Hall. A pre-reception and press line begins at 5:00 pm with the awards ceremony following at 7:00 pm. A post-show celebration immediately follows the ceremony.
