Prior to the dinner, we were on hand for the arrivals and got to speak with several honorees and guests about the event and importance to be part of the conversation. We spoke with Bill Duke, actor, director & mentor, Blair Underwood from ABC’s “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD,’ Cedric the Entertainer from TVLand’s “The Soul Man,” David Oyelowo, from “Selma,” DJ Paul from Three 6 Mafia and co-writer of “Hard Out Here For A Pimp” from Hustle and Flow which won the Oscar for Best Original Song at the 78th Academy Awards, J. August Richards from Bravo’s “Girlfriends Guide to Divorce,” Jason George from ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Mistresses,” Louis Gossett Jr from www.Eracism.Foundation, and Obba Babatunde from DirectTVs “Kingdom.”
