Mingle Media TV and our Red Carpet Report team with host, Amy Long, were on set, on the beach in Malibu, CA for the filming of the first-ever feature-length digital movie musical ‘Summer Forever’ from Relativity Digital Studios. Summer Forever is scheduled to come out this August.

It’s a fun movie that tests the friendship of three besties where each of them discovers something about themselves through life, love, heartbreak and song, and reinforce their special bond.

5 Questions with Stephen Colletti

Stephen Colletti from the film – Summer Forever Cast Interview #SUMR4EVR

So the day we were on set (in Malibu) to talk to the cast, Stephen Colletti wasn’t there… bummer, huh? Well, when we talked to him on the phone, and asked which set was more fun to work on (a) Malibu Beach or (b) the pool, he laughed and told us neither, he doesn’t have any scenes in those locations in this movie…

Tell us about your character: He is cordial, upfront, and wears the badge of someone who can change someone’s life, but doesn’t flaunt it. He understands that he has the ability to make artists dreams come true.
What do you like about playing this character, Austin: I haven’t had a character where he was in a position of power, it was fun to play that part. It’s cool to use different tactics to come down to the level of the artist while playing the head of a music label.
What was your favorite set to be on since you didn’t get any beach time? Production set up a really cool office with the Gold Records on the wall, and it was a fun set to play on. It was a killer set.
What is your YOLO list of things to do? On a grand scale, there are spots where I’ve been and where I want to go.
What have you discovered about yourself on your journey as an actor? I have had very good instincts from the beginning and they haven’t let me down, when you start to let doubt into your mind, you run into trouble. Making decisions about how to play a character or going for an audition, if I stay close to my first instinct it won’t fail me and I get more confidence as long as I stay close to it.

Groundbreaking Approach to Filmmaking

This is an exciting time for Relativity Digital Studios as we continue to build our digital presence with compelling stories that re-write the rules for how fans connect with and consume content,” said President of RDS, Lisa Eisenpresser. “SUMMER FOREVER is a first-of-its-kind digital musical with a millennial voice. We think it represents a new model for how studios can partner with social influencers to reimagine both distribution and marketing of digital movies in today’s converging landscape.”

About Summer Forever
On the last Friday of summer after high school, three life-long best friends make a pact to have their final days together the most epic of their lives. Come Monday morning, everything changes as the previously inseparable girls part ways and begin their adult lives. Sweet, sarcastic, music-loving Sydney plans to leave for college in Boston; brainy, proper and slightly uptight Chloe will head to New York to attend Columbia; and gorgeous, free-spirited Liv will reluctantly stay behind to help in her mom’s coffee shop and attend community college. With only 48 hours on the clock, the trio makes a “YOLO” list of things to do before Monday morning, be it chase dreams, chase boys, or chase their fears away, all while singing their hearts out. Sydney must decide between staying the course, or blowing off college for a shot at making it big with her music; Chloe must throw a raging house party while her parents are away; and Liv must bring her dance aspirations to life by applying to the extremely exclusive Juilliard.
