Daniel Passino, of Ann Arbor, Michigan has joined Team Christina on The Voice Season 10 after his performance of “Marvin Gaye” got him two chair turns including one by coach Blake Shelton.
Daniel has an extensive background in Opera, studying music at University of Michigan has allowed him to be apart of an upper level choir, the “Orpheaus Singers”; the Men’s Glee Club, the second oldest collegiate choir in the entire world and on The Friars, a subset Acapella group in Michigan.
“Michigan is a great environment and we have so many opportunities for singing.” said Daniel.
Through these groups he has performed in places like the Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall , Mormon Tabernacle and even a choir festival in Portugal.
Although, he aspires to become a pop singer like his idols Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake, it was his father and professors whom encouraged him to start by studying classical music.
“All music basically originated from Baroque style music; classical music, so I thought it would be important to learn how to properly sing and how to properly breathe.” said Daniel about his decision to study classical music at the University of Michigan.
