Yes, last night was the 89th Oscars ceremony held at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood and Highland. We’ve got the winners listed below along with photo galleries and video clips… in case you missed it.
We would like to give Jimmy Kimmel, the host, this year, a shout-out for his excellent job keeping the show moving and the audience entertained, even when he texted the president…
Oscar Ceremony Highlights
We were so excited to see Viola Davis winning Oscar, to add to her Emmy, and Tony! She’s the first black woman to win these awards for acting!
Jimmy Kimmel… doing, well, his thing, bringing in tourists, but this time from a bus. They were welcomed by the talent on the first row and Denzel Washington even did a quick wedding ceremony for a couple who were engaged.
Loved seeing this talented young woman, Auli’l Cravahlo, perform on stage, so poised and beautiful.
Jimmy Kimmel even sent snacks to the audience from heaven, we still say his mom making PBJ sandwiches for us at the Emmys was better… but still, this was too funny to see!
Then there was John Cho and Leslie Mann tried geek speak about the Sci-Tech awards that happened weeks before the Oscar Ceremony – we’ve included the playlist for you to view.
If you haven’t seen La La Land… watch John Legend’s performance of the award winning song City of Stars and you’ll be inspired to see the film.
The Ladies from the wonderful film, Hidden Figures, paid tribute to one of those “hidden figures” from our history…
During the Memoriam, we were all reminded about the loss of our Princess…
Everyone makes mistakes, and no, Bonnie and Clyde (Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway) did not pull off one last heist.
There was a mistake in giving the wrong envelope to them and, well, history was made.
Even when there was some confusion with the final award, the calm and grace of the La La Land team was to be applauded.
Congratulations to Moonlight, for having the first LGBT story to receive an Oscar.
