The cast and showrunners of Midnight, Texas came out to San Diego Comic-Con to discuss Season Two of the show which premieres October 26th on NBC. The show is based upon a series of books by Charlaine Harris (True Blood).

Midnight, Texas is a small town that acts as a haven for vampires, witches, demons, psychics, and others that are a bit different from the norm. Throughout Season One, the town members create an unlikely family as they ward off threats from outsiders and strive to protect themselves and their town.

New characters will be introduced in the second season. Nestor Carbonell (Bates Motel) will play Kai and Jaime Ray Newman (The Punisher) will recur as Patience. Kai and Patience own Midnight’s newly refurbished hotel and health retreat, The Crystal Desert. The third new character, Walker, a gay cowboy demon hunter, will be played by Josh Kelly (Unreal).

The showrunners, Nicole Synder and Eric Charmelo, who have worked on Supernatural, want to bring some humor, fun, and camp to show along with the scares. They promise the second season will be a lot sexier and scarier. Themes of forbidden love and its consequences, being an outsider and diversity will continue to be explored in this supernatural setting. During roundtable interviews, Red Carpet Report’s Jennifer Ortega was able to chat with Francois Arnaud (Manfred), Jason Lewis (Joe Strong) and Dylan Winthrop (Bobo).
