Oscar-nominated Swiss filmmaker Christian Frei’s new Sundance-winning documentary is a fascinating look at the closest thing to Jurassic Park the real world has ever seen. Hunters searching for fossil ivory, from woolly mammoths, preserved in the New Siberian Islands discover a fully preserved specimen, which leads to a worldwide scientific frenzy.
The documentary follows the scientific quest to resurrect the species as well as a look behind the curtain at scientific discoveries regarding the human genome. Critics are raving about the film, it currently has a rare 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
