New York, Austin, and Los Angeles will have the Iron City from Rober Rodriguez’s new film Alita: Battle Angel brought to life.

Alita Battle Angel- Passport to Iron City transports visitors directly into the futuristic world of Robert Rodriguez and James Cameron’s upcoming film in advance of its February 14 premiere, and will open to the public on January 23.

Guests explore Iron City, which has been recreated down to the last detail by the film’s production designers, where they interact with the City’s gritty residents, earn credits by completing puzzles and challenges, experiment with custom technology built for the retro-future Alita aesthetic, and uncover hidden clues to determine their fate with The Factory. Exclusive Alita-themed beer from Three Weavers Brewing, a craft brewery in Inglewood, CA, and Underwood wine cans from Union Wine Co., will also be available during your time in Iron City.

In a special preview, we got to experience what Iron City has to offer visitors. I Am 8-Bit (in collaboration with other partners) have engineered not only a marvel for the eyes but a challenge that will test groups of friends against other attendees. Even though Iron City is meant to simply have fun in, you’ll need to spend your pre-time at the Kansas nerdowell bar familiarizing yourself not only with your surroundings but other people. Maybe even complete strangers. Much of the film’s theme is about connection and what the loss of it does to society. “Find your other half”, it isn’t just a Hallmark greeting card. That’s the biggest hint I’ll spoil here.

Your objective in Iron City is to take on various metagames and activities ranging from blind guessing foods in paper bags, scents, reflex tests, scavenging scrap and other tests pulled straight from the film. Completing the aforementioned will net you the in-film universe’s credit currency which the more you amass, the bigger the bet you can make in the final event…watching Motorball.

Nothing about what you’ll see feels like filler. Every stop you make along your souvenir map will have some sort of function and some even have games within games so don’t be afraid to touch and explore Iron City.

Alita: Battle Angel – Passport to Iron City will be open starting January 23rd and run through the films release February 14. Find more details and availability here.
