The wait is almost over! The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones premieres on HBO Sunday, April 14th. Entering the final season fans want answers to two very important questions: who will sit on the throne, and can we defeat the white walkers?
The season is set to kick off with a pivotal Targaryen-Stark meet-up. House Stark’s reaction to Jon Snow’s decision to give up his crown and bend the knee to an invading foreign queen will lay the groundwork for the entire season.
Emilia Clarke explained to EW how serious the cast and crew worked to make the season the best it could be, “[Camera checks] take longer, costumes a little bit better, hair and makeup is a bit sharper — every choice, every conversation, every attitude has this air of ‘This is it,’” she said. “Everything feels more intense. I had a scene with someone and I turned to him and said, ‘Oh my God, I’m not going to do this ever again,’ and that brings tears to my eyes.”
