During Thursday’s TCA presentations, NBC brought their musical comedy PERFECT HARMONY.
Star, Anna Camp made her case for the differences between her previous musical performances in the Pitch Perfect movies compared to NBC’s Perfect Harmony. In Perfect Harmony, Camp’s character (Ginny) is the opposite of her cocky and arrogant movie role, the actress sees this as a woman looking for change and fulfillment during a transitional period of her life.
Stealing the show is Geno Segers who plays (Dwayne) a meek mannered southerner looking to find his voice. In the show’s trailer, Geno’s deep voice comes out in a rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking ball”. Geno answered a few questions about whether the voice we heard was something he did for the show but the actor is indeed a 24/7 Barry White album.
The show also features a character with Dyslexia. Exec Producer Lesley Wake Webster commented, “It’s not meant to make fun of it, but it’s meant to give a light-hearted view of the subject.”
Perfect Harmony also brings Bradley Whitford back to NBC who previously was a part of the network’s highly acclaimed legacy show The West Wing.
Bradley Whitford stars in this comedy about finding inspiration in the most unlikely places. When former Princeton music professor Arthur Cochran unexpectedly stumbles into choir practice at a small-town church, he finds a group of singers that are out of tune in more ways than one. Despite the ultimate clash of sensibilities, Arthur and his newfound cohorts may just be the perfect mix of individuals to help each other reinvent and rediscover a little happiness, just when they all need it most.
The cast includes Bradley Whitford, Anna Camp, Tymberlee Hill, Rizwan Manji, Will Greenberg, Geno Segers and Spencer Allport.
Lesley Wake Webster will write and executive produce. Jason Winer will direct and executive produce. Bradley Whitford, Adam Anders and Jon Radler will executive produce.

PERFECT HARMONY will premiere on NBC September 26 as part of its Thursday lineup @ 8:30PM ET
