19th annual Movies for Grownups Awards

Yesterday, AARP announced their nominations for the 19th annual Movies for Grownups Awards. Leading the pack were Netflix’s The Two Popes leading with seven mentions, long with The Irishman and Sony’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood getting six noms each.

The ceremony will be hosted by Tony Danza, and can be watched on PBS on Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. and will stream on pbs.org/gperf. Event proceeds will benefit AARP Foundation who work to end senior poverty with programs designed to build economic opportunity and social connections for vulnerable older adults in Los Angeles and across the country. Among the nominees are Robert De Niro, Tom Hanks, Renée Zellweger, and Al Pacino. The awards ceremony honors films by and for people 50 or older and will be held at their ceremony on Jan. 11, 2020 in Beverly Hills, Calif.
