Today, Sony has officially given the date for a substantial PS5 reveal. PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan took to PlayStation Blog to give a hint at what we’ll see on June 4 during this hour+ long reveal.

We’ve shared technical specifications and shown you the new DualSense wireless controller. But what is a launch without games?

That’s why I’m excited to share that we will soon give you a first look at the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday. The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe. Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware.

The event will be broadcast on the company’s twitch and youtube channels on June 4, 2020 at 1:00 PM PST. Many are speculating not to expect pricing info or a release date but the conference is timed to what would have been the E3 window (though Sony would not have been a part of the event). If I had to wager, I would say either Sony Santa Monica, Insomniac, or Guerilla will at least confirm a sequel to one of their games for 2021 while most of the presentation will be third-party games from Capcom, Ubisoft, and perhaps WB will finally let us know what RockSteady has been up to.
