Announced during this past weekend Guerilla Collective gaming showcase, Read Only Memories: NEURODIVER, the next entry in MidBoss’ cyberpunk point-and-click adventure franchise, will hit Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in Q1 2021 alongside the previously announced PC and Mac versions.
The sequel to 2064: Read Only Memories, features fan-favorite characters like Lexi Rivers, TOMCAT, and Jess Meas in the familiar streets of Neo-San Francisco. Psychic agent ES88 is on the trail of a dangerous rogue esper known as the Golden Butterfly, who is wreaking havoc on the subconscious minds of the metropolis’ residents. Deep Dive into citizens’ heads and alter corrupted memories in search of clues.
If you haven’t played ROM, it’s worth going back. The game’s retropunk point and click story was a complex look at analogs of the real world. There’s soo much narrative splinter and rich character to dive into that you could spend hours only having made it a third of the way through. It’s available for every system and PC, definitely give it a look if you’re searching for something new to play.
