This week PlayStation Studios officially announced MLB The Show 21. This annual baseball game has been booming on PlayStation consoles exclusively for more than a decade, the announcement confirms the title will be available on Xbox Series X/S as well as PlayStation 4/5 consoles.

MLB® The Show™ 21 launches on April 20, 2021. The Standard Edition on current gen consoles is $59.99 USD/$79.99 CAD/£59.99 GBP/ €59.99 EUR MSRP, and on next gen consoles is $69.99 USD/$89.99 CAD/£69.99 GBP/ €69.99 EUR MSRP.

We’ll begin seeing what the game looks like when San Diego Studio gives updates in March via their Twitch and YouTube channels. The only details we have in addition to available platform is that for those not purchasing the collectors edition, no current-to-next gen upgrade path is available. But the title will have cross-play meaning PS players will finally be able to strike out their Xbox friends.

PlayStation also announced today the barrier breaking legend Jackie Robinson would grace the cover of a special edition of MLB The Show 21.

To celebrate Jackie, PlayStation and San Diego Studio are happy to announce that PlayStation will donate $1 to the Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) for every MLB The Show 21 Collector’s Edition sold in the US, including the Jackie Robinson Edition, the Jackie Robinson Deluxe Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition from when pre-orders open through December 31.

The donations will establish theJRF MLB The Show Scholars supported by PlayStation Pathways program. Scholars will receive four-year scholarships and extensive support services, including career guidance and internship placement.  It’s important for us to write more than just a check. The partnership with JRF will also include mentorship with PlayStation/SDS employees as well as an internship to get real world, on-the-job experience.  We couldn’t be more excited to launch this partnership with Jackie’s family and the Jackie Robinson Foundation.
