Today during Square Enix Presents, the publisher announced Life Is Strange: True Colors. Developed by LIS: Before The Storm team Deck Nine, this game changes a lot while still existing in the wide narrative universe of LIS.

True Colors tells a brand new story in the new setting of a small town called Haven Springs. You’ll play as Alex Chen, a young woman who reunites with her lost brother after years in a troubled foster care system. After her brother Greg is mysteriously killed, she’ll have to use her new psychic empathy powers to piece together what happened. Alex can physically see how others are feeling around her – at the cost of potentially becoming ‘infected’ by their emotions.

Along the way, Alex will meet many citizens of the picturesque mountain town of Haven Springs, including two potential love interests, Ryan and Steph (the latter of which previously appeared in Life Is Strange: Before the Storm). Alex is voiced by Erika Mori, with a singing voice provided by singer-songwriter Mxmtoon (who performs Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ in the game).

True Colors also drops the previous episodic release schedule of the series. On September 10, players will be able to go through the entire story of the game. Life Is Strange: True Colors launches on September 10, 2021 for Xbox One, PC, Series X/S, PS5/4 and Stadia.
