During Thursday’s PlayStation 5 Showcase, Sony gave consumers a glimpse into the near future of its latest console. The shift begins from dual PS4/PS5 games to PS5 exclusives with some remasters and Insomniac Games expanding their footprint in the Marvel Universe.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

Bringing this expansion of the Borderlands world to gaming has been no easy feat for Gearbox but Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands looks like what the word romp was invented to describe. It has a true adventure game feel with Borderlands soul. The game launches on multiple platforms on March 25, 2022.

Gran Turismo 7 Gets A Release Date

The Polyphony team have a date, Gran Turismo 7 will arrive on March 4, 2022. PlayStation console owners getting the next generation of the most true to life racing experience along with the evolution of aesthetic car customization and the ability to take your car into exotic location photo mode. The game will be available on PS4/PS5, PlayStation did not comment on if it will have the same upgrade path since it fell out of the system launch window such as Horizon Forbidden West.

STAR WARS: Knights Of The Old Republic Remake

The classic Bioware game is set to become a PS5 Console exclusive under the stewardship of Aspyr who worked on the original game alongside Bioware. During a post showcase interview, the developer shared some details. While still early in development, STAR WARS KOTOR Remake is being rebuilt from the ground up meaning it won’t just be some resolution upgrades. The story will remain true to the original but be fleshed out to the new canon that everything being produced in the Star Wars universe now fits.

GOD OF WAR: RAGNAROK Gets Some Gameplay

After its initial tease, Santa Monica Studio finally gave us a look at the highly anticipated sequel to 2018’s God Of War. In Ragnarok, Kratos and his son Atreus will journey to Asguard through a mysterious new valley while being hunted by Thor and their once ally Freya. While God Of War: Ragnarok fell out of its original 2021 target a long time ago, the game is set to launch in 2022 for the PS4 and PS5.

Insomniac Announces Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine

We all knew it was coming yet nothing could prepare you for how chilling the announcement was. Creative Director Bryan Intihar and much of the original 2018 game team are continuing the story of Peter and Miles in Marvel Spider-Man 2. In the announcement trailer, a Kraven The Hunter voice over is climaxed by Venom who will be voiced by iconic horror actor Tony Todd. The game is set to exclusively launch on PS5 in 2023.

The one we weren’t expecting, the best at what he does…Marvel Wolverine is a new game in development for PS5. Brian Horton and the team behind Marvel Spider-Man: Miles Morales is developing the game. If Insomniac is following the open-world formula of their Spidey games, it looks like from the video this game will be set in Madripoor. Could we get Logan riding around the city on a motorcycle? We can’t wait to see more and how Insomniac shapes a new version of Marvel’s most famous mutant.

While it hasn’t been easy to get a PS5 console the time to get desperate might be coming up soon. From the showcase, it looks like PlayStation will begin transitioning their first-party exclusives to PS5 only by the end of 2022 into 2023 once their initial launch game announcements have all been released.
