One of the amazing events happening here in New Mexico this weekend is the 100th Anniversary of the Santa Fe Indian Market. With the past two years not happening due to COVID, it is a treat to see all of these artisans come this year to share their talents and amazing spirit over the weekend. Each August, about 100,000 people attend the largest juried Native American art show in the world -the Southwestern Association of American Indian Art’s (SWAIA’s) annual Indian Market.  Find out more here https://swaia.org/

About #SSF2022 As fine art collectors and enthusiasts from around the world gather in Santa Fe, New Mexico this August they will have the unique opportunity to experience the fourth official ‘Sovereign Santa Fe’ 2022 art expo.

Sovereign Santa Fe, a Contemporary Native American Arts exhibition, guest curated by Tony Abeyta showcasing cutting edge indigenous creativity. Sovereign’s mission is to create a platform to highlight ‘NewSchool’ Native American Arts and its elusive relationship between traditional and contemporary. Established to give vibrant Native American artists an on-trend platform to showcase and share their accomplished works and talents.

Organized by FaraHNHeight Fine Art, taking place at La Fonda on the Plaza in The Lumpkins Ballroom & Mezzanine above the Lobby, Sovereign Santa Fe fosters a community of forward-thinking artists. The exhibition features contemporary paintings, sculptures, and fashion.

SSF is an interactive experience, that allows visitors to view and experience contemporary native artist works, including but not limited to: Jonathan Warm Day Coming, Danielle SeeWalker, Isaiah Stewart, Raven Arbuckle, Santiago Rivera, Robyn Tsannajinnie, Micha Wesley, Nizhonniya Austin, Jesse Raine Littlebird, Derayna DeClay, Ivan Lee, Armond Antonio, Elwin Shorthair, Don Bailey, Dante Biss-Grayson, Patrick CloudFace Burnham, Dustin Mater, Rick Gendron, Preston Pierre, Travis Tubinaghtewa, Randy Barton, Sean Deloria Blackwolf, Gearld Stone, Billy Hensley, and Brian Davidson.

This year, Sovereign Santa Fe is designed as a more intimate yet immersive experience, less artistes than years past but larger scale work. Many of the participating artists will be showcasing their unique contemporary native creativity on larger platforms.

Visitors coming to Sovereign Santa Fe at La Fonda on the Plaza can explore the art exhibit in a safe and socially distanced atmosphere, then enjoy flavorful fare and cool drinks at La Fonda’s multiple food and beverage locations within the hotel.
