Marvel and Disney announced today that delays to the upcoming reboot of Blade starring Mahershalla Ali will move the film’s release date. This of course causes some ripple effects in the connected MCU. For now, Marvel has moved the following previously announced release windows.

BLADE

Previously dated 11/3/23 moves to 9/6/24

UNTITLED DEADPOOL MOVIE

Previously dated 9/6/24 moves to 11/8/24

FANTASTIC FOUR

Previously dated 11/8/24 moves to 2/14/25

AVENGERS: SECRET WARS

Previously dated 11/7/25 moves to 5/1/26

This shifts the proposed phase 6 of the MCU, to begin with Fantastic Four in 2025 and end in 2026 in Secret Wars. We know that WandaVision director Matt Shakman will be helming Fantastic Four, and that Michael Waldron (Doctor Strange 2 and Loki) will be writing Avengers: Secret Wars. Ryan Reynolds has been teasing the new Deadpool film, which will feature the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. The delays come from the Blade production which recently announced the exit of director Bassam Tariq who left over reported schedule conflicts. Blade is seemingly the latest in Marvel Studios’ history of directors exiting projects, just ask Edgar Wright, Scott Derickson, and a host of others.
