outer range

Filming has commenced for season two of Amazon Original TV series, “Outer Range,” in the areas surrounding Santa Fe and Las Vegas. The first season of the show was filmed in New Mexico and premiered in April 2022. This return of the show to the state is a positive sign for the growing film industry there, as returning series have become increasingly important. The decision to film “Outer Range” in New Mexico is especially exciting for rural areas like Las Vegas, as it brings economic benefits for the second year in a row.

“Outer Range,” a Western family saga produced by Plan B Entertainment for Amazon Studios, stars Oscar-nominee Josh Brolin as Royal Abbott, a rancher who uncovers a mysterious discovery at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness. The show boasts an ensemble cast of talented actors, including Imogen Poots, Lili Taylor, Tamara Podemski, Lewis Pullman, Tom Pelphrey, Noah Reid, Shaun Sipos, Isabel Arraiza, and Olive Abercrombie.

Over 2,000 New Mexicans will be employed during the production of “Outer Range,” with approximately 2,000 serving as background talent and 200-300 as resident crew members.
