The limited series, previously known by the working title “The Palace,” has been officially titled THE REGIME, and HBO has released its official teaser. The series stars Academy Award®-winner Kate Winslet and features Matthias Schoenaerts, Guillaume Gallienne, Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton, Hugh Grant, Danny Webb, David Bamber, Henry Goodman, Stanley Townsend, Louie Mynett, Rory Keenan, Karl Markovics, and Pippa Haywood. The series is directed by Stephen Frears and Jessica Hobbs, with Will Tracy serving as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
The story of THE REGIME takes place over the course of one year within the walls of the palace of a modern European regime as it begins to unravel.
The teaser for the series was exclusively shown during Warner Bros. Discovery’s unveiling of the Max streaming service on the Warner Bros. lot in Los Angeles. The series is executive produced by Winslet, Frears, Frank Rich, and Tracey Seaward, with Hobbs serving as the co-executive producer. The writers for the series include Seth Reiss, Juli Weiner, Jen Spyra, Gary Shteyngart, and Sarah DeLappe.
