This year’s Writers Guild Awards sparked conversation around the top winners with “Eighth Grade’s” Bo Burnham winning the 2019 Writers Guild Award for Original Screenplay and “Can You Ever Forgive Me?’s” Nicole Holofcener and Jeff Whitty winning the WGA Adapted Screenplay. Neither of these exceptional scripts are in the running for an Oscar!
Other big winners in Television included “Barry,” winning for an episode and Best New Series, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” winning in the Best Comedy Series category and “The Americans,” got the Best Drama Series win.
