Alfre Woodard in Clemency

There’s only one thing worse than letting a guilty convict walk free-sentencing an innocent man to the death row. Another beautiful movie about justice and redemption, written and directed by Chinonye Chukwu. She was inspired by the wrongful execution of an African-American man, Troy Davis, in a Georgia prison in September of 2011.

Clemency will be globally released on 27th December 2019

Bernadine is a common warden at a prison and seeing people on the death row meet their end is just any other day. But the conviction of an innocent black man, Anthony woods, triggers her conscience. Bernadine, who is already at war with her husband that seems to drift away day by day, has come face to face with herself-her conscience and her senses.
