Deadline is reporting that award-winning actor Oscar Isaac will fill the boots of the iconic video game character Solid Snake in Sony’s Metal Gear Solid film project.
The movie is currently in development at Sony Pictures with Vogt-Roberts on board to direct. The film is based on the Metal Gear Solid video game created by Hideo Kojima and published by Konami. The script is written by Derek Connolly. Avi Arad is producing. Peter Kang is the executive overseeing for the studio.
Metal Gear is one of a few projects in the works from Sony based on games for their consoles. Tom Holland is starring as Nathan Drake in the Uncharted movie, and HBO is in pre-production on The Last of Us television adaptation. Oscar Isaac’s next time in front of audiences will be in Warner Bros. Dune.
