COLLEGE TELEVISION SUMMIT

The Television Academy Foundation has revealed the details of its upcoming College Television Summit, which will be held online on April 25-26 and is free for media students from two- and four-year colleges and universities across the country. Participants can engage in virtual networking sessions with prominent industry leaders, such as Emmy® winners, top creatives, business executives, agents, and more. Those who register early will have additional opportunities for speed networking.

The summit will commence with opening remarks from Cris Abrego, Chairman of the Americas, Banijay and Chair of the Television Academy Foundation. This will be followed by a panel discussion called “Script to Screen: Apple TV+’s Shrinking”, which features show creators Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein, and Jason Segel, along with actors Christa Miller and Jessica Williams, and moderated by Jeff Conway, senior contributor at Forbes. The event will also include a keynote conversation with Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans, as well as “The Art of the Pitch Workshop” which will feature a live Q&A with producer Krista Gano (Invisible Virtual Table Read).

On the second day of the summit, a virtual “Speed Networking” event will take place, where students will have the opportunity to connect with industry leaders in small groups for interactive mentoring experiences. Other programming includes a live conversation with Justin Noble, co-creator of HBO Max’s The Sex Life of College Girls, moderated by entertainment interviewer Mara Webster, a discussion with actor Tramell Tillman of Apple TV+’s Severance, and “Script to Screen: Freeform’s Good Trouble” with showrunner and executive producer Joanna Johnson, executive producer Christine Sacani, co-executive producer of post-production Gillian Sonnier, director Constance Zimmer, composer Amanda Jones, and production designer Rachel Kamerman, moderated by Deadline’s Katie Campione.
