During its GamesCom presentation from Germany, Google’s game streaming service, Stadia announced CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated RPG is going to yet another platform. Cyberpunk 2077 will make its way on Google Stadia when the game launches in 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where your choices shape the story and the world around you.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release April 16th, 2020, for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4

The Google Stadia version will launch the same year — additional details will be made available at a later date.

While a few on Twitter are going harsh on the news, Cyberpunk coming to a new platform isn’t taking it away from your favorite platform. We don’t know what the state of Stadia will be when Cyberpunk launches or how much of an impact it will have in the market. This being one of CD Projekt Red’s most ambitions games from a studio created to push IP boundaries, having it accessible to as many eyes as possible will only put more pressure on the studio to deliver a generational game. Hopefully, a pressure that will encourage some sort of communication across the platforms.
