In this interview, we speak with director, producer, and writer, Catherine Y. Fridey, a renaissance woman, who is also an artist and actor in addition to being an award-winning screenwriter.
“Overturned Buckete” entry in the Santa Fe Film Festival is a short film that begins to tell the powerful story of family and the strength of Rosabelle and the matriarchy of her family while steeped in the rich culture of New Mexico that spans generations. About “Overturned Bucket”
Based on a true story, the life of one woman, born during the New Mexico Territorial fight for land, is told as seen through her daughter’s eyes. The fortitude to keep going when life throws the worst it has to offer, is turned into meaningful lessons as the little girl, the tenth of twelve children, confronts her world with optimism.
