Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Platt in The Politician

Every child has something or the other in mind of what they want to be as an adult and what they want to pursue. And so does Payton Hobart; only that he wants to be the President of the United States that too with a burning passion and he knew that since age seven. As preposterous as it sounds, it is definitely one hell of a roller coaster to his destination. But he knows it is one step at a time and the biggest one is the political journey through Saint Sebastian High School. The boundaries he has to cross, the politics he has to face and the crimes he has to commit because desperate times call for desperate measures.

The Politician, created by Ryan Murphy, portrays the struggles of a political candidate to win his seat and most importantly, to what extent he might go to do so. This multi-genre Netflix series already has its viewers mesmerized and impatient for its first episode that is to be released next Friday on 27th September 2019. Its trailers have already taken YouTube like fire in a forest.

The cast has been decided keeping in mind the comedic and musical requirements of The Politician. Ben Platt (Billy Lynn`s Long Halftime Walk, Pitch Perfect) plays the protagonist, Payton Hobart. Lucy Boynton (Bohemian Rhapsody, Murder on the Orient Express) plays Payton`s political opponent, Astrid. Gwyneth Paltrow (Emma, Iron Man 3) as Georgina Hobart, David Corenswet (The tap, Affairs of the State) as River, Zoey Deutch (Before I Fall, Why Him?, Flower) as Infinity Jackson, Jessica Lange ( King Kong, American Horror story) as Dusty Jackson.

The series has been directed by Helen Hunt (Oscar winner), Janet Mock also the producer and writer for Pose and Ryan Murphy and written by co-writers Ian Brennen (Glee, Scream Queens, Cooties) and Brad Falchuk (Glee, Pose, American Horror Story).
